![]() Ken’s tweet highlights another reason not to get too caught up in the “How could you rank X over Y?!” debates every week: Because college basketball is weird. Bread is good! But the important stuff is in the middle. But fundamentally, the numbers next to teams’ names are just the bread. We have some semblance of order, especially at the top it’s not like we throw random MEAC teams at No. The discussion is the point, the analysis and the context and the random tangents, the tour through a smattering of the best teams in college hoops that week, whatever sequence they show up in. We spend a lot of time telling you not to worry about which teams are ranked where in these weekly lists, for one reason above all: That’s not what we really want this column to be about. Ken Pomeroy, as he is wont to do, made an excellent point the other day: This is relevant to our Power Rankings interests.
